As avid fans of Passion Pit we were loving their return with “Lifted Up” and “Where The Sky Hangs”, the third new single of the third studio album, Kindred out 21st of this month.
Never one’s to play to the rules, Passion Pit make them – to say their 2009 debut album “Manners” was out there is a bit of an understatement. Armed with a chiming noise ingredient list and psychedelic recipe of fast paced odd vocals & lyrics. But since when was odd assumed bad? Whilst some think Passion Pit were set to resemble a nightmare wedding of honey and cheese, they proudly stood in a changing time surrounded by success of MGMT like bands to once again prove there was more than one angle to an ‘alternative’ label. And for the record – we love honey and cheese combination (you need to try it).
There simply was no test of ‘the second album’ as they have stood as an iconic artist of our time, ready to mash things up into the unknown. So how does “Until We Can’t” their new single stand up in all f this?
Simple. Boundary-less. Undoubtedly Passion pit through and through, Until We Can’t is edgeless, and shows us three singles into the new album that they sure as hell aren’t going anywhere anytime soon; fearsomely bouncing out a new b to the beat to the beat of a generation.
