Future Sounds // Leks Rivers

We’re taking Fresh Hype today in a  bit of a different direction and instead of doing the one track, we’re flashing the Leks Rivers Project Nomad EP, because, yes, it’s that great!

Young gun, 20 something Leks Rivers has emerged from the darkened underground of the London music scene as the singer/songwriter ushers an immensful EP, Project Nomad. The EP, an eight track get together of a variety of styles manages to pull off just that, smooth flows from track to track of different styles, bringing some justice to the music scene along the way. It already puts Leks in a  formidable position as he balances different formats of past styles, rather than the typical young stud move of feeding off the sound of popularity.

As for Project Nomad EP, he manages to retain a smooth flow from track to track whilst busting in some high styles of vibes in the sound. We kick off with the likes of Soho Knights, a familiar hip-hop vibe with a masquerade of organ fuelled charm that makes it the opening stand out for the EP. When I’m High brings on a harder bounce with some repetitive movement and flow, moving swiftly on to P.O.W, a jungle hip-hop formula. You have such a solid mix of music, it all culminates into a pretty interesting EP from Leks Rivers, which comes to a concluding end with So Thrown, a favourite of mine.
